Guideposts has been sending sweaters to children in need for almost 10 years. With the help of our many partners we have reached countless children in the United States and around the world. 
    In response to the need of those who have lost so much due to the recent devastation of hurricane Katrina, Guideposts has already sent thousands of sweaters to our partners who have begun to distribute your handmade hugs to these needy children and their families. 
    As the winter months approach thousands of displaced children will be finding themselves in unfamiliar places without much of anything but the clothes on their backs.  So, your sweaters will become even more important as they continue to try to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. 
    If you have already knitted for our Knit for Kids program, or even if you have only thought about knitting in the past, we encourage you to please share your talents and creativity with Guideposts and knit a sweater for these children.
