Did you know
that volunteers are an important part of Guideposts Outreach
Ministries?
Volunteers help
Guideposts reach out and serve more people than we could
otherwise. Here are a few ways you can assist us in fulfilling
our mission.
Prayer Volunteers
Over 1,300
volunteers help us pray for the more than 40,000 prayer requests we
receive each month. They are involved in a variety of ways. Volunteers pray with people who call our prayer phone line or who
write to us by letter or through our Web site. They also write
personalized prayer responses that are sent back to individuals who
use a special feature on our Web site and request a written
prayer.
Our Guideposts
Prayer Ministry Staff train and support you. As a volunteer you can
experience the deep sense of fulfillment that comes when you help
someone through the power of prayer.

Sweater Project Volunteers
If you love to
knit and crochet warm sweaters for children, you’ll enjoy serving as
a Guideposts Sweater Project volunteer. Sweaters are made by
Guideposts readers for children in the United States and around the
world where parents need help providing for their families.
Organizations who already serve in these areas deliver the sweaters
for us, so we know they go to children who truly need them. To date
our sweater volunteers have helped us ship over 200,000 sweaters,
but our partner organizations are asking for more.

Outreach Services Volunteers
Countless
people, through organizations where they work or volunteer, help us
distribute Guideposts publications and other materials for our
Complimentary Services program. They include volunteers in
hospitals or nursing homes, chaplains in prisons or in the military,
and others. We appreciate our partnerships with organizations who
share our vision of reaching people when they need us the most.
