CAROL KUYKENDALL of Boulder, Colorado, says, “Gratitude comes easily when I consider that both my husband Lynn and I have survived late-stage cancers and are currently getting good test results. I've realized this year that gratitude is an attitude that takes practice to become a habit. I'm more able to practice the gratitude-attitude when I remember something I heard years ago: I'm not thankful for all circumstances (such as a flooded basement) but I can be thankful within all circumstances (such as the quick response of a plumber). This year we've been grateful for the birth of another grandchild, for some traveling, and for my opportunity to teach storytelling workshops that encourage others to see God's presence in their life circumstances.”
